RTTNews - Tuesday, Romania's National Institute of Statistics announced that the trade deficit stood at EUR 835.1 million in April, widening from EUR 584.6 million deficit in March. A year ago, the trade deficit was EUR 2.17 billion.

Exports dropped 22.9% year-on-year in April, while imports declined 40%.

On a monthly basis, exports and imports decreased by 16.8% and 5.8%, respectively in April.

For the January to April period, the trade deficit amounted to EUR 2.86 billion, down from EUR 7.27 billion deficit in the previous year.
