Romeo Miller could be heading into the Lyon den! The rapper and actor posted a photo on Instagram teasing that he landed a guest role on the hit Fox show “Empire” for Season 3.

The hip hop soap opera is known for having celebrities appear on the show, and it looks like Miller could be the latest Hollywood star making his way onto the series when it returns in the fall. On Wednesday, the 26-year-old “Growing Up Hip Hop” star posted a picture of him lounging outside as he reads lines from a script. “That moment when @theoriginalbigdaddy [creator Lee Daniels] hit you up to come read for @EmpireFox,” he captioned the image. “Stepped away from the party to go study these lines. I will always make time for my craft.”

In March, co-executive producer Danny Strong told the New York Daily News that they would be “dialing back” on celebrity guests for Season 3 but hinted that something big was in store. “I don’t want them to get too distracting,” he explained. “But we will have one great new character this season.” Could Miller’s character be the newbie Strong was referring to? Miller didn’t reveal any other details about his possible role so fans will have to wait until September to see what the show is cooking up.

One Season 2 guest star who will definitely be back when “Empire” returns is rapper Xzibit. According to Deadline, Xzibit was promoted from guest star to series regular for Season 3 and will be reprising his role as Shyne. In May, showrunner Ilene Chaiken told TVLine that Shyne will be a “central character” to Lucious’ (Terrance Howard) upcoming storyline. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, she further explained: “Shyne isn’t necessarily an adversary, although I think he could become an adversary. Lucious has a long history with him — history that’s going to come back and bite Lucious for a lot of earlier slights. If you have a guy who’s not afraid to die, not afraid to go to prison, that’s a very dangerous adversary.”

Season 3 of “Empire” returns Wednesday, Sept. 21, on Fox.
