Rory McIlroy gave his father a wonderful present on Father's Day, winning the U.S. Open in record-breaking fashion.

McIlroy finished eight shots ahead of Jason Day, obliterating the record for the largest margin of victory in a U.S. Open which used to be held by Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus at four shots.

On the eighteenth hole, after tapping in a putt to seal the victory, Gerry McIlroy, Rory's father congratulated his son on the green.

Happy Father's Day, the U.S. Open champion told his dad.

The father and son walked off the green and shared a few words after the win, a touching moment for the two and for all the viewers watching the win.
