Newlyweds Prince William and Kate Middleton surprised everyone with a move unprecedented in the royal family.

Literally, a move. The couple traded in their carriage for an Aston Martin convertible with a classic license plate of JU5T WED.

Prince William himself was driving the car away from Buckingham Palace through the Mall Friday Afternoon. His wife, Duchess of Cambridge, sat next to him and waved to the well-wishers.

On the front of the Aston Martin was a red letter L which stands for Learners permit. The car was also decorated with balloons in the back. This was a very modern twist to a fairytale wedding.

Next up for the newlyweds is a dinner dance at 7 p.m. London time hosted by Prince Charles for about 300 guests at Buckingham Palace.

Later in the night, Prince Harry will also throw a party for the newlyweds and their friends. Prince Harry will also host a Survivors Breakfast at 6 a.m. for those still celebrating the nuptials.
