Rupert Murdoch was physically assaulted while testifying before the Parliament's Home Affairs Committee in London Tuesday.

Live video of the event showed that someone watching the hearing from the public gallery stood up and attacked Murdoch while Murdoch's son James was speaking to MPs.

Murdoch's wife Wendi stood up and tried to block the attacker, and appeared to punch him in defense of her husband.

A man has been apprehended by British police. Apparently, the man shouted the word greedy before he stood up and moved toward the News Corp. chairman.

James Murdoch was shocked when the person attacked his father. Rupert Murdoch didn't seem to realize what was happening until his wife came to his aid.

The sitting hearing has been suspended for at least 10 minutes.
