In a surprising confession, Russell Brand has admitted that he had sex with a man, and it was all for a television stunt. The 38-year-old, who has dated a slew of women since divorcing Katy Perry in 2011, spoke about the incident during a podcast with fellow British comedian Richard Herring.
“I wanked off a man in a toilet,” he said, according to Radar Online. “I thought, ‘I think of myself as heterosexual, but perhaps that’s because of the environment that I grew up in where homosexuality may have been difficult for me to express.'’’ Brand then proceeded to go on a search for a willing male subject while in London for a stunt for the documentary series he was working on at the time.
“I trawled around Soho … going [to] various gay bars, gay gyms, trying to pick people up with a film crew. I went in this pub and I goes, ‘Anyone want me to wank them off?’ And this bloke goes, ‘Yep.’ So we goes to the lavvy [bathroom]-- me, him, the director -- and … he gets his willy out.
And it was not nice. The phallus is ... I like mine and you see some things in paintings that look alright, but his looked like a rag. I took it betwixt my fingers thusly. It were like massaging a naked mole rat and it wouldn’t go hard! And we’re … in the toilet with the director standing there filming me and he goes, ‘I think … it would be easier if I was able to touch yours.’ So I take down my trousers and pants … and then the bloke sort of mauled at my genitals while I wanked him off. I’m such a sex narcissist that, even though I’m not gay, I still wanted to be good at giving him a wank.”
The revelation should really come as no surprise to Brand’s followers, as the comedian is known for outlandish behavior. In 2001, the day after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, he showed up for work at MTV dressed as Osama bin Laden, and was fired days later. In 2008, he made headlines after doing a Nazi salute at an awards ceremony.
