RTTNews - Consumer prices in Russia rose 12.3% year-on-year in May, slowing from a 13.2% rise in the previous month, the Federal Statistics Service said Friday. Economists expected an increase of 12.5%. A year earlier, in May, consumer prices were up 15.1%.

Month-on-month, consumer prices increased 0.6% in May, slowing from a 0.7% rise in the preceding month. A year earlier, the consumer prices were up 1.4% on a monthly basis in May.

In the first five months of the year, consumer prices climbed 6.8% compared to a 7.7% rise in the corresponding period of the previous year.
