Russian Oil-Drilling Jack-up Rig Sinks; Most of the Crew Missing: News Agencies
An oil-drilling jack-up rig that capsized off Russia's Far Eastern island of Sakhalin has sunk -- and most of its 67 crew members are missing -- an Emergencies Ministry official was quoted by news agencies as saying.
The Kulskoye jack-up rig operated by the Russian offshore exploration company Arktikmorneftegazrazvedka capsized in a storm while being towed from the eastern peninsula of Kamchatka.
Fourteen of the crew members have been rescued, and two bodies have been recovered.
