The Russian currency edged down against the US dollar during early New York session on Tuesday after having acquired considerable gains in early trading. The ruble that soared to near an 8-week high of 33.139 against the dollar early in the European session reversed direction thereafter and dropped to 33.4442 by 8:50 am. The dollar-ruble pair, which closed Monday's New York deals at 33.2030, is currently trading at 33.30.
