South Africa's M3 money supply rose 10.58% year-on-year in March after rising 13.17% in February, the country's central bank said Thursday. Economists had expected the growth to ease to 12.35%.

The central bank also said private sector credit growth slowed to 8.51% in March from 11.05% in February. Meanwhile, the consensus forecast was for a 9.35% increase.
