Sam Smith picked up his fourth win of the night at the 2015 Grammys when he took home the award for Record of the Year. The 22-year-old English singer was up against Iggy Azalea, Sia, Taylor Swift and Meghan Trainor.

Stevie Wonder and Jamie Foxx were on hand to present Smith the award for “Stay With Me.” Earlier in the night, Smith won for Best New Artist, Song of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album. However it was during his Record of the Year acceptance speech that he surprised the audience by thanking his ex. The singer cheekily said he wouldn’t have received four Grammys if his former special someone didn’t break his heart.
