Samantha Stosur won the U.S. open and she deserves this win, says Serena Williams who lost the game against her in the final on Sunday.

Samantha, 27, is delighted to win her first Grand Slam title. Before the U.S. Open, she advanced to a Grand Slam final just once before, the 2010 French Open.

Stosur is the first Australian woman to win at the Flashing Meadows. The ninth seed crushed and had quite an easy win against the three-time winner Serena Williams. I can't actually believe I won this tournament, said Stosur after her dream win.

Serena, however, not only lost the game but lost her cool as well with chair umpire Eva Asderaki. She now might have to face sanction for her behavior and code violation in the final match.

However, Williams, 29, said she is happy to make it to the final after all her health ailments that bogged her down since her victory at Wimbledon, 2010. In the last nine months, she underwent foot operations and was hospitalized for pulmonary embolism.
