Las Vegas -- Samsung showcased several computing devices at CES 2017. The manufacturer gave details on the the Samsung Notebook Odyssey and the and the Samsung Chromebook Plus and Chromebook Pro, in addition to upgrades to the Notebook 9, which was first announced in December. The new Notebook 9 model ships with a 15-inch display and a discrete GPU.

Samsung Notebook Odyssey is a gaming specific laptop, which will start at $1,199 for its 15-inch model. The notebook features an Intel i7 processor, and supports up to 32GB DDR4 2,400MH RAM and up to 256GB PCIE SSD internal memory. Graphics are powered by the NVIDIA GTX1050 chip, while its battery is 43 Wh. The laptop also features an LED backlit keyboard and ports including USB 3.0, USB 2.0, HDMI. There will also be a 17-inch model available, which may host a different graphics card as well as some other higher capacity specs.

The Samsung Chromebook Plus and Chromebook Pro are a collaboration with a Google to bring to market the first notebooks with Google Play integration native to the devices. Previously, other Chromebook devices received Google Play through a software update.

The notebooks will start at $449, with the availability for the Plus beginning in February and for the Pro in the spring. The notebooks include Samsung’s signature stylus, build into the chassis and featuring handwriting recognition, predictive text and a search ability. With Chrome OS and other Google-based software, users will have unique features, such as the ability to access Netflix and use the streaming service’s download for offline viewing feature. Currently the feature is available only for Android and iOS mobile handsets.

The Chromebook Plus features 12.3-inch QHD touch screen display and an ARM-based OP1 Hexa-core chip, an internal graphics chip, 4GB RAM and 32GB e.MMC internal storage and a 39Wh battery. Ports include a headphone and mic combo, USB-C and MicroSD a card reader. The Chromebook Pro differentiates with its Intel Core M3 Processor chip.
