New details about the Samsung Galaxy Home have been circulating online after a new announcement. Samsung's CEO has spoken up about the Galaxy Home’s launch date, revealing that it will be unveiled later this year.

Samsung Electronics Consumer Electronics CEO Kim Hyun-suk said that the Galaxy Home speaker is set to be launched in Q3 of 2019, according to The Korea Herald. The CEO made the confirmation in an interview after a press conference about the Project Prism and Bespoke refrigerator series.

"The Galaxy Home speaker, which will be the center of Samsung's home appliances, is planned to be launched in mid-second half of the year," the CEO told the South Korean outlet.

However, the official Samsung newsroom page has yet to reflect this announcement and details about the Bespoke. It would be best to wait until the official announcement comes out for more details.

The Samsung Galaxy Home is one of the company’s most awaited devices as it is the smart speaker line. Once released, it will compete with other speakers in thr market such as Amazon Alexa, Apple Home Pod and Google Home.

Aside from the Galaxy Home, Samsung will reportedly also offer a smaller version called the Galaxy Home Mini speaker. While Kim confirmed some details about the main Galaxy Home smart speaker, the CEO refused to comment about the smaller version.

The Galaxy Home speaker release would help strengthen the foothold of the Samsung smart home systems for its owners. Users would be able to link their smart devices such as smart speakers, smart refrigerators, and other devices compatible with the Samsung Bixby assistant app.

However, it is Samsung’s rival Apple which made the biggest announcements this June. The recent Worldwide Developers Conference 2019 introduced many improvements to their device softwares. Meanwhile, the last Galaxy Unpacked 2019 mostly confirmed other smart devices which are not the Galaxy Home smart speaker.

For now, we can only wait for more updates from Samsung to know more about the upcoming smart speaker.
