According to Engadget, Alex Ioannou, the first customer to pick up a brand-spanking-new Galaxy Nexus in the UK, received instead a developer model by mistake. Mr. Ioannau, who appeared pleased as anything in the photo tweeted by Samsung's PR team of him holding the Galaxy Nexus box at the time of his pickup, sent a follow-up picture of himself to the blog holding the same box and looking dejected, or possibly even chagrined. He also included a photo of the phone itself, which included a menu clearly not intended for the public - one of the options is to Report a WTF Condition - and other preloaded developer-related materials. Thankfully, Mr. Ioannau returned to the store and was supplied with a new model, with which, Endgadget reports, he is quite happy.
