Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Leaked? New Device Photo Suggests Wide Screen And Thin Bezel

It appears that leak season is in full swing for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 as another purported image of the upcoming smartphone has surfaced.

This leak not only follows the photo of a large and boxy device that many have considered may be the Galaxy Note 3 in a decoy outer shell, but also comes after the leak of a photo reportedly taken of the Galaxy Note 3. Currently, no leaks connected with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 have been confirmed.

Shared by Twitter user @PunkPanda, the image shows a corner of an unassuming device with no identifying marks to suggest that it could be the Galaxy Note 3 or a Samsung device for that matter. While the device does have a Samsung-like shape, there is no proving that it is in fact the Galaxy Note 3 from this photo.

However, taking the leak into consideration, we see a device clearly updated from Galaxy Note predecessors: It features a large screen, small bezel and rounded corners. Rumors have proposed that the Note 3 will favor the S4 in design, which could account for the rounded edges and flat top of the leaked device. Additionally, the third-generation Note phablet is believed to have a 5.99-inch display, which could account for the thinner bezel seen in the leaked device. Similar to the S4, which is .03-inches less wide that its predecessor the S3 but features a thinner bezel in order to incorporate a display that is .2-inches larger, the Note 3 is expected to have a thinner bezel than is seen on the Note 2 in order to keep its overall size roughly the same.

Keep in mind that Samsung does a pretty good job at keeping the designs of its high-end devices under wraps. Actual leaks and sneak peeks, likely orchestrated by Samsung itself, usually don’t surface until days before a device is set to launch. The Note 3 is expected to be unveiled in September at the IFA Expo in Berlin, so we likely have new months before we see any legitimate device leaks.

Other Note 3 rumors propose a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with an Adreno 330 GPU, as well as a 13-megapixel main camera and S Pen capabilities. The device’s purported 5.99-inch display will likely be Full HD, and it will likely run the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system with the Samsung TouchWiz user interface on top.
