Samsung Galaxy Note 2 in pink Samsung

With just two weeks left until the Galaxy Note 3 is unveiled on Sept. 4, rumors about the next-gen phablet from Samsung are beginning to pick up. The most recent reports indicate the Galaxy Note 3 will be released in two main color variants, followed by a third one a few weeks after its initial release.

Sources told SamMobile the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will be available in black and while upon its release. These main color variants are expected to ship to carriers and retailers within week 36 (Sept. 2 to Sept. 8) in preparation for its release, which will likely not be long after that. Once the Galaxy Note 3 is on the market, a pink color variant of the device is expected to ship within week 43 (October 21-27). The pink color variant is not expected to be available in the U.S. and will likely be an exclusive for Korea or a neighboring country. The original Samsung Galaxy Note was similarly released in a pink color variant, which was exclusive to Korea, while the pink Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was released exclusively in Taiwan.

While no shipping or release dates can be confirmed at this point, this recent news does fall in line with expectations for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to be released by at least late September. Galaxy Note devices also have similarly been released in the fall, about a month after their unveilings. The original Galaxy Note was announced at the 2011 IFA Expo in September and released in October, while the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was announced at the Berlin Radio Show in late August 2012 and released in late September.

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Note 3 at a Samsung Unpacked event in Berlin, which will coincide with the 2013 IFA Expo. As Samsung appears to have a similar unveiling timeline set for the Galaxy Note 3, many feel certain that a prompt release will follow. Also, the “Note the date” teaser Samsung sent out within its invitations for its Unpacked event makes the Korean manufacturer look pretty obvious with its intentions.

Other recent rumors have pinpointed AT&T among the carriers that will power the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. There are also reports that the Galaxy Note 3 will ship a 32GB model as its main internal storage option to ensure users are not disappointed with the amount of RAM available for personal use.

While many other reports of prospective specs for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 are circulating, they all remain unconfirmed. However, the Galaxy Note 3 is expected to ship in two processor variants: a model with a 1.8GHz Exynos 5420 processor and another model with a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. Both models are expected to feature 3GB of RAM in addition to a 13-megapixel camera with Optical Image Stabilization, 32GB and 64GB internal storage options with microSD support of up to 64GB, a 3200mAh battery and the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system.
