Will the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 release on Sprint on Oct. 2? Sprint

Sprint has been keeping quiet about its plans for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 despite most of its major competitors having begun accepting pre-orders and announcing release dates for their models of the Note 3. Currently, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 splash page on Sprint's website simply says "coming soon." However, we have been able to scrounge up a little information on the Sprint Galaxy Note 3 before the Now Network officially announces it.

IBTimes spoke with a Sprint retail representative who says the Galaxy Note 3 should be available on the carrier starting Oct. 2. According to the rep, Samsung visited the store on Wednesday in order to give them a preview of the Note 3 before its release on the network, which indicates that a release on Sprint could coincide with other carriers.

Thus far AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon have all begun accepting pre-orders for their Galaxy Note 3 models. The Note 3 will release on AT&T Oct. 1, on T-Mobile Oct. 2 and on Verizon Oct. 10. Officially, Sprint has only announced its intentions to power the Note 3 but has not given any details on the device or when it will release.

Pundits have noted the passing of what appears to be Sprint models of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 through the FCC. Last week Engadget reported that many devices with Galaxy Note 3 model-number variants had been inspected by the FCC. A device with the SM-N900R4 was certified with support for LTE-capable CDMA bands for Sprint, US Cellular and other regional providers, while one with the model number SM-N900P was certified with support specifically for Sprint. Many have taken these sightings as further confirmation that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will soon come to Sprint.

As said, Sprint has not officially announced any pre-order or release date information for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 so these claims cannot be confirmed until the network is ready to reveal its plans. Similar to Sprint, regional carrier U.S. Cellular has not officially revealed any pre-order or release plans for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, which the carrier says it will be carrying at some point.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 features a 5.7-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, a 2.3GHz quad-core LTE processor for the U.S. market, 32GB and 64GB internal storage options with microSD expansion up to 64GB and 3GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel camera and a 1.9-megapixel front camera with 1080p/60 video recording and 4K video recording for some models. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 also runs the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system and a 3,200mAh battery and features boosted 24-bit and 192 KHz audio.

Software features for the Note 3 include Samsung Knox preloaded and able to work for both personal and business capacities. The Note 3 also focuses on improved multitasking with the Air command feature, which directs users to the Action Memo, Screen Write, S-Finder, Scrapbook and Pen Window applications. With an enhanced S-Pen, users can easily navigate their Galaxy Note 3 handset with simple dot, circle and box motions.
