New Samsung Galaxy Note 3 ads poke fun at the shortcomings of the Apple iPhone 5S. Samsung Mobile USA

Samsung (OTCMKTS:SSNLF) Mobile USA took its competitor Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) head-on with a couple of new ads released to promote its new Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1.

In both ads, Samsung attempts to highlight the weakness of Apple products such as the iPhone 5S and the iPad Air.

For the Galaxy Note 3, Samsung places the Note 3 side-by-side with an iPhone 5S as footage from a Miami Heat NBA game is playing on both devices. An unseen announcer pokes fun at the iPhone’s smaller 4 inch screen size and lack of stylus, while proclaiming the benefits of a high definition 5.7 inch Galaxy Note 3 screen and a S-Pen stylus that lets you manipulate images that you can send to your friends.

The announcer ends the ad with both devices side-by-side, proclaiming, “Yeah, now that’s a serious mismatch right there.”

The second ad by Samsung pokes fun at Apple’s “Pencil” ad for its iPad Air.

Instead of trying to evoke a nostalgic, Samsung opened its ad with the same unseen announcer from its Galaxy Note 3 commercial, who snarkily described the pencil:

“Students have used it to play ceiling darts. It’s—wait a second. What’s hiding behind this pencil? Ah an iPad Air. Almost didn’t see it back there. And what’s this hiding behind the iPad? Ah the even thinner Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1”

The announcer then starts comparing the two side by side, highlighting the Tab Pro's thinner profile, higher resolution screen and multitasking features, ending the ad by “choosing” to take the Tab Pro 10.1 and the pencil.
