Samsung's latest flagship smartphone Galaxy S3 has not been launched in the United States yet, but retailers and carriers are already out to attract customers. Here're two discounts that are on offer for the device's AT&T variant.

If you are one of those AT&T customers who are looking to make the Samsung Galaxy S3 their next smartphone upgrade, Amazon Wireless and Target have an offer that would certainly be tough to refuse. Both online retailers are offering the Android 4.0 smartphone for just $149.99 if customers upgrade their AT&T contracts in purchasing the Galaxy S3.

First, Target was offering the device for only $150 for upgraders ($190 new accounts and $200 for family accounts), and now it looks like Amazon Wireless is following suit, matching that same deal for those flying solo on a individual account, Phandroid reported.

Customers should note that the offers are valid for the 16GB version of the device only. In addition, the customers won't be getting the 50GB of free Dropbox storage. However, it's applicable to all AT&T variants of the Galaxy S3, no matter whom they buy the handset from.

AT&T has already announced that it would start shipping Galaxy S3 June 18, just ahead of Sprint's release date on June 21.

Meanwhile, Verizon customers have been hit by a shipment delay for Samsung Galaxy S3. According to a latest update by the carrier, the shipping date for the handset has been pushed back by one whole day to July 10.

Similar to AT&T, the Verizon variant of the Galaxy S3 will also lack the 50GB free Dropbox storage. Though it's unclear as to why both Verizon and AT&T have opted out of the promotion and neither of them has commented on Dropbox's announcement, it's possible that one or both could be planning its own cloud alternative, according to Slash Gear.

Galaxy S3's other features include AllShare Play, Group Cast and Share Shot functions allowing users to share photos with others. Another feature, S-Beam, allows easy transfer of large files from Galaxy S3 to another device by touching the backs of the two devices.

The much talked about feature of Galaxy S3 is S Voice, a language recognition technology allowing customers to control applications and services with words instead of touch. The handset also includes camera features like Best Shot to choose the best image from a series when taking a photo.
