Samsung Galaxy S3
Samsung Galaxy S3 Released; Coming To Sprint: Sources Samsung

Samsung finally launched the successor to the Galaxy S2 in London on Thursday after months of rumors and speculations. As expected by many, it is indeed called the Samsung Galaxy S3.

During the launch event, Samsung announced all the key features and improvements that could offer its flagship Galaxy S3 smartphone a competitive edge over rivals. However, the manufacturer didn't reveal which US carriers would offer the device.

However, The Verge reported, citing anonymous sources, that Sprint will launch the highly anticipated handset later this year. The move comes as little surprise - Sprint has worked closely with Samsung on the last two Galaxy S launches, offering the Epic 4G in 2010 and the Epic 4G Touch last year - so it only stands to reason that the two companies would be hooking up once again, said the report.

Although any details related to a Sprint-specific model are not yet available, the new Samsung smartphone is expected to run on the carrier's ensuing 4G LTE network.

Sporting Samsung's own 4.8-inch 720p Super AMOLED HD, the beautifully crisp Galaxy S3 indeed comes with a quad core 1.4GHz Exynos 4 Quad processor as announced earlier. As for the camera, the South Korean company stuck to an 8-megapixel camera, found in the Galaxy S2.

The 8.6 mm thick device features 1GB of RAM and 4G LTE technology. On top of all these, Samsung also announced S Voice, its answer to Apple's Siri. According to Samsung, you can tell your Galaxy S3 to wake up. Even better, you can tell GALAXY S III to turn off the alarm for a few minutes and let yourself sleep a bit more. Answer your phone (or reject a call), turn your music up (or down), and even tell the camera when to shoot.

Yes, these functions are all something that Siri has already proved itself an expert at. That said it would be interesting to see whether S Voice can outdo its Apple counterpart once it comes to the market.
