Samsung Galaxy S4 CyanogenMod 10.1 'Nightly' Builds Now Available For Verizon, Sprint And U.S. Cellular Variants; Download Them Here

Even though the Samsung Galaxy S4 "Google Edition" with stock Android is on its way, those who have already bought the Galaxy S4 can now get a custom user experience with the CyanogenMod 10.1 nightly, which is now available for Verizon, Sprint and U.S. Cellular handsets.

The ROM customization team officially announced the firmware on Friday, and users can now head over to the CyanogenMod website and download the build for their respective handsets. The guys at CyanogenMod have been hard at work since the Galaxy S4 was released to produce custom ROMs for the smartphone. CM founder Steve Kondik had a nightly T-Mobile variant of the Galaxy S4 available for public use just days after its release, while nightlies for the AT&T variant and variants for Canadian carriers were also pushed out quickly.

CyanogenMod appears to still be working on the international version of the Galaxy S4, which is notably powered by the Samsung Exynos 5 Octa processor. All U.S. and Canadian variants carry the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor.

Users should keep in mind that if their Samsung Galaxy S4 device is under a carrier that locks its bootloader, such as AT&T or Verizon, they will have to bypass said bootloader before proceeding to install the CyanogenMod 10.1 nightly. Luckily, developer Dan Rosenberg recently released his unlocking tool for the bootloader-locked variants. Other tech savvy users may be able to bypass the bootloader on their own.

Users with T-Mobile, Sprint and U.S. Cellular should have no problem rooting their devices as the Samsung Galaxy S4 on those carriers sells bootloader unlocked.
