Pricing for the Samsung Galaxy S8 is already creeping into $1000 range and the 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage model is expected to be quite pricey. The premium handset expected to be available only in Korea, according to Android Authority. Samsung has not yet revealed a price for this Galaxy S8 model, but ETNews claims it will sell for 1,155,000 Korean won, which equates to $1,028.

Prior rumors suggested the 6GB Galaxy S8 might also be available in China; however, this has not been confirmed. The premium model will be available only in Midnight Black.

The standard Galaxy S8, which will be available globally, contains 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage and sells for a price around $750, while the Galaxy S8 Plus sell for around $850.

The market has been anticipating such a time that high-end smartphones would exceed $1000; however, manufacturers, such as Samsung and Apple appear to be doing what they can to prevent prices from getting that high. Apple’s current most expensive phone is the 256GB iPhone 7 Plus, which sells for $969.

However, Samsung has also been towing the line of pricing for its device. While most carriers are offering the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus for under $1000, Amazon is currently selling the 64GB device for $999.99 and the $1,299.99.

Other Samsung devices that have exceeded $1000 include the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, which was globally available in a 128GB model.

The standard Galaxy S8 is currently available for preorder and will release April 21. There is no word on when the 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage model will release.
