Samsung has silently released the “Galaxy S7 Edge Injustice (Batman) edition” in partnership with the DC Comics and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Following which, the South Korean tech giant has given a glimpse of how the company came up with the design.

Speaking of price, Samsung’s Galaxy S7 Edge Batman (Injustice) Edition will reportedly set the buyers back by 79,990 ruble in Russia (about $1,222). This model is apparently based on the “2013 Injustice: Gods Among Us” video game and not on the “Batman vs. Superman” movie as reported earlier.

To top it off, the device bundle of Batman Edition includes a Gear VR headset, complete with a Batman pin and thematic headphones. This limited edition S7 Edge version will eventually be released in China, Singapore, Korea and Latin America, other than Russia.

However, at this point, there is no word available on the release specific to the U.S. In any case, even if Samsung doesn’t release the handset officially, third-party vendors and e-retailers have always sold the limited editions devices as international variants without warranty in the U.S.

As far as the design goes, Samsung gave the responsibility of designing the Galaxy S7 Edge Injustice Edition to three dedicated designers namely Kwangmoon Kim, Junwon Lee and Soohyun Kim.

In their own words: “Our aim was to create a complete package that had a special meaning for Injustice: Gods Among Us game and Batman character fans. It includes a specially designed Galaxy S7 edge, a smartphone case and a Gear VR. The main color we used was black, and we also added a touch of gold.”

The trio further explained that they focused on brining the best out of the comic character’s true nature, keeping the audience in mind as to what they would be looking for in a customized limited edition device. Lee further added that “Fans might buy this package edition not just to use its devices, but also so as to own products dedicated to their favorite DC Comics hero.”

The designer team apparently selected every component of the smartphone from a comic fan’s perspective, and in turn, made suggestions to the partners. After receiving the Galaxy S7 Edge Injustice Edition, Lee says the first thing that catches the attention is the stunning Batman logo badge, emphasizing the fact that it is indeed a special or limited edition.

Lee concluded by saying “We hope more people will come to appreciate the Samsung and Galaxy brand through our fresh approach and this special edition’s emotional appeal.”
