The 33rd annual Carnaval parade and street festival was celebrated, Sunday, May 29, in San Francisco by tens of thousands of people, who danced and shook their hips to the rhythm of Latin, Caribbean and African music.

The theme for Carnaval 2011 was Live Your Fantasy but the organizers - San Francisco Cultural Arts Traditions - said the event lives up to that theme every year.

This year the family-friendly event hosted some of the most diverse dancers and musicians in the bay area.

The 2011 parade's grand marshal was Dr. Ana Maria Polo, author and star of the Spanish television program, Caso Cerrado.

The San Francisco Giants 2010 World Series trophy also showed up at the parade.
