Fluke goals happen a lot, but in a friendly match between the San Jose Earthquakes and West Bromwich Albion, one of the most surprising goals of the years occurred.

Rookie goalkeeper David Bingham scored from more than 90 yards out in his professional debut as San Jose beat West Brom Albion 2-1 at Buck Shaw Stadium. It only took Bingham three minutes to make his presence felt with his new club.

The 21-year-old first considered throwing the ball but then decided to send it deep into West Brom territory, and the ball found its way into the goal after a huge bounce that sailed over new West Brom goalkeeper Boaz Myhill, who may have lost the ball in the sun.

The match was somewhat of a homecoming for Welsh goalkeeper Myhill who was born in nearby Modesto, California.
