Sandra Bullock Gives $1 Million To Help Victims Of Hurricane Harvey

Sandra Bullock is giving a huge donation for the victims of Hurricane Harvey.

According to E! News the "Miss Congeniality" star has pledged $1 million for the victims of the tropical storm. Hurricane Harvey devastated Houston. Bullock's generous donation will help American Red Cross in its ongoing effort to reach out and assist those who have been affected by the flood.

"I'm just grateful I can do it," Bullock said in a statement. "We have to take care of one another."

According to the publication, Bullock is not the only celebrity to share her wealth. Kim Kardashian and her family also donated $500,000 to the Red Cross. Jennifer Lopez and boyfriend Alex Rodriguez, Nicki Minaj, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Chris Brown and T.I. also donated.

Meanwhile, Kevin Hart launched his own Hurricane Harvey Relief Challenge and encouraged his fellow celebrities to do the same. "Modern Family" star Ariel Winter also encouraged her fans to give for the victims of Hurricane Harvey. "Please donate and keep Texas in your thoughts and prayers," she wrote on Instagram.

Meanwhile, Beyoncé is working with her local pastor to extend help. "My heart goes out to my hometown, Houston, and I remain in constant prayer for those affected and for the rescuers who have been so brave and determined to do so much to help," the "Lemonade" singer said in a statement. "I am working closely with my team at BeyGOOD as well as my pastor (Rudy Rasmus at St. John's in downtown Houston) to implement a plan to help as many as we can."

Although there is outpouring financial assistance from celebrities, E! News noted that Bullock has a long history of helping people in need. Bullock has been giving away millions to charity.

According to the publication, since 2001, "The Blind Side" star has already donated $5 million to the Red Cross to help out with relief efforts after various disasters. Aside from that, Bullock also helped build a clinic in New Orleans' oldest public high school. She also donated money to keep the legendary and aging pool manager of the Beverly Hills Hotel afloat.
