Penn State running back Saquon Barkley has signed with rapper Jay Z’s Roc Nation Sports company for representation and contract negotiations, ESPN reported Wednesday.

The news comes just three days after Barkley declared his intentions to enter the 2018 NFL draft. Barkley took to Instagram Wednesday and announced that Roc Nation Sport's Kim Miale would be his agent.

"It was a really easy decision," said Barkley, according to Darren Rovell of ESPN.com "A lot of people came around my way, but they were focused on me and they did a great job at selling my family on setting me up for life, bringing value outside of football. I felt like it was harder for other agencies to pitch that family feel when they were working with 30 or 40 guys."

Barkley announced his decision to turn pro on Dec. 31, a day after the Penn State Nittany Lions defeated the Washington Huskies, 35-28, in the 2017 Fiesta Bowl. In the first quarter, Barkley scored on a 92-yard touchdown run — the longest touchdown run in Fiesta Bowl history.

Barkley played three seasons at Penn State, where he set the record for the most rushing yards in a season by a freshman (1,076) and by a sophomore (1,496). During his junior year, Barkley posted 1,271 rushing yards and 18 rushing touchdowns.

Jay Z invited Barkley and his family to his Los Angeles home to discuss the deal.

"Excited to share that I've signed with Kim Miale of Roc Nation Sports. So happy to join the @rocnation family and have the opportunity to pursue my lifelong dream of playing in the NFL.," Barkley wrote on Instagram.

Roc Nation Sports was founded in 2013. The company has signed such athletes as Kevin Durant of the Golden State Warriors, Victor Cruz of the New York Giants and Dez Bryant of the Dallas Cowboys.
