A statement released by the lawyer of Miami Dolphins lineman Jonathan Martin revealed that his sister, Sarah Martin, was once the target of an unidentified bully’s vulgar comments.

David Cornwell, Martin’s lawyer, released a statement that constitutes the first comments from Martin’s camp regarding his alleged bullying at the hands of teammate Richie Incognito, Pro Football Talk reports. Cornwell noted that the racially charged, threatening voicemail that Incognito allegedly left for Martin was just one aspect of the harassment that his client endured.

“Beyond the well-publicized voice mail with its racial epithet, Jonathan endured a malicious physical attack on him by a teammate, and daily vulgar comments such as the quote at the bottom. These facts are not in dispute,” the statement read.

The statement also contained a specific comment directed at Martin by an unidentified Dolphins teammate. Martin’s older sister, Sarah Martin, was the comment’s target, Deadspin notes.

“We are going to run train on your sister. ... She loves me. I am going to f--- her without a condom and c—in her c---,” the teammate allegedly said. Cornwell did not reveal which of Martin’s teammates was responsible for the bullying comment.

Details on Sarah Martin are scant, as Martin’s sister has yet to make a public appearance in regard to her brother’s bullying scandal. A 2011 article by the Associated Press noted that Sarah is the older sibling, and that she attended medical school at the University of Pittsburgh.

Cornwell’s statement also addressed the rumors that Incognito was Martin’s closest friend in the Dolphins locker room. He noted that Martin “endured harassment that went far beyond the traditional locker room hazing.”

“For the entire season-and-a-half that he was with the Dolphins, he attempted to befriend the same teammates who subjected him to the abuse with the hope that doing so would end the harassment,” the statement read. “This is a textbook reaction of victims of bullying. Despite these efforts, the taunting continued.”

While the statement does not reveal if Incognito was the catalyst behind the bullying of Martin, increased scrutiny of the suspended Dolphins lineman’s behavior revealed that he was the subject of a police inquiry in 2012. On Thursday, Florida television station Local 10 obtained a police report from last May in which Incognito was accused of physically harassing a woman at a golf course.
