The “Sex and the City” actress welcomed a baby girl, Gemma Rose Davis, into the world this week by way of an adoption People first reported.

“This is something I have wanted for a very long time,” the 46-year-old actress told People about the domestic adoption. “Having this wish come true is even more gratifying than I ever had imagined. I feel so blessed.”

Ironically, Davis' “City” character, Charlotte York Goldenblatt, actually adopted her first child as well. The character, and husband Harry Goldenblatt, adopted fictional baby Lily from China, MSNBC reports.

Co-star and longtime friend Sarah Jessica Parker seems thrilled about the recent baby news as she told Access Hollywood.

“She lives in Los Angeles and I live here [in New York], so I’ve not met her [baby] yet, but I’m so happy for her and I just could not be happier for Kristin,” the star told Access.

“It’s a wonderful situation. I know she’s wanted to have a family for a long time and she deserves that unique kind of happiness that children bring and I’m so happy for her.”

Parker is basking in her own new arrival on the way in the form of Season 2 of her series “Work of Art,” premiering October 12 at 9/8 CT on Bravo.

“I’m really excited,” she told Access Hollywood Tuesday. “I’m still kind of in disbelief that we found a home for a show about art, because it was not necessarily something that people cottoned to immediately.
