Brace yourselves, Gladiators. Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) and her team of misfits are back on “Scandal” next Thursday.

Season 5 of the hit ABC series has been on hiatus since November. The midseason finale left viewers with their jaws on the ground after Olivia (Kerry Washington) got an abortion and broke up with Fitz (Tony Goldwyn). The drama will pick up on Feb. 11 with a six-month time jump in episode 10, titled “It’s Hard Out Here for a General.”

According to the synopsis for the midseason premiere, the time jump will allow viewers to see how Olivia and Fitz are coping with their breakup. The episode description teases that the exes are “handling their newfound freedom in very different ways” – and the promo video sheds a little more light on that.

Fitz, who? The president seems far from Olivia’s mind in one scene where she jumps on Jake (Scott Foley) for a steamy kiss. Another clip from the promo features Abby (Darby Stanchfield) asking Olivia is she misses “him.” It’s easy to assume that the “him” in question is Fitz. Olivia has a short and sweet response: “No.”

Of course the breakup isn’t the only drama for Pope and Associates. Olivia and her team will “take on a case that could lead to a national crisis.” Meanwhile, the promo video also reveals that Mellie (Bellamy Young) will show up looking for help on her campaign.

“Scandal” Season 5 returns to ABC on Thursday, Feb. 11, at 9 p.m. EST.
