The creators of “Scandal” will release a spinoff focusing on Olivia Pope’s (Kerry Washington) Gladiators, Quinn (Katie Lowes), Huck (Guillermo Diaz) and Marcus (Cornelius Smith Jr).

According to TV Line, “Gladiator: Wanted” will be exclusively released by ABC online. It will also introduce a slew of new interns who will receive lessons from the three Gladiators.

The first episode has already been released on Thursday, just a few days before “Scandal” Season 6 premieres on the network next week. “Gladiator: Wanted” will have seven episodes, and each one will be directed by “Scandal” cast member Darby Stanchfield. The actress plays the role of Abby Whelan in the Shonda Rhimes-created series.

Meanwhile, “Scandal” Season 6, episode 1, titled “Survival of the Fittest,” will name the new president of the United States. In Season 5, Olivia helped Mellie Grant (Bellamy Young) with her campaign. She also encouraged Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) to run alongside President Fitzgerald Grant’s (Tony Goldwyn) ex-wife. But while Olivia was busy making sure Mellie would win, Cyrus Beene (Scott Foley) also had some plans up his sleeve. After encouraging Governor Vargas (Ricardo Chavira) to run for president, he decided to campaign as his vice president.

There are some rumors suggesting that Mellie won’t be able to take over the Oval office. After all, the synopsis for “Survival of the Fittest” states that the result of the elections, which will take place in the first 10 minutes of the episode, will be shocking.

Washington recently appeared on “Ellen Show” to talk about the upcoming premiere. The actress told host Ellen DeGeneres that they had no idea how the real-life elections would turn out to be when the filmed the premiere. “We shot the episodes way before the real election… but it will be hard to believe that we didn’t know about our election,” she said. This has led fans to think that Washington just confirmed Mellie’s loss, just like what happened to Hillary Clinton.

“Scandal” Season 6, episode 1 will air on ABC on Jan. 26 at 9 p.m. EST.
