“Scandal” star Katie Lowes is not only celebrating the Season 7 premiere on the hit ABC TV series. The actress also welcomed her first child with Adam Shapiro on the same day.

On her Twitter account, Lowes shared a photo of her and Shapiro’s adorable baby’s feet. In the snap, a mobile device with the words “‘Scandal’ The Final Season” is also shown. Along with her baby’s blue pacifier is a bowl of popcorn and Lowes and Shapiro’s baby’s name, Albee. The actress also used the hashtag “Baby Gladiator,” in reference to her Gladiator character, Quinn, in “Scandal.”

Lowes first announced her pregnancy in May during an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” At that time, the actress admitted that she and Shapiro have not decided on a name for their baby. Lowes, who tied the knot with Shapiro, told host Jimmy Kimmel, “It’s a boy! We have zero names.”

During the same interview, Lowes revealed which person from the “Scandal” team she informed first about her pregnancy. According to the actress, it was Shonda Rhimes. “I told her five minutes from being pregnant, she already knew, she’s a genius. She knows the minute I got pregnant,” she said.

Rhimes, who happens to be the executive producer of “Scandal,” possibly noticed Lowes’ pregnancy weight gain. “It was either a really good weekend eating pizza and beer or I was pregnant,” she joked.

Lowes’ co-star, Guillermo Diaz, also found out that she was expecting her first child after he noticed that the actress’ boobs have gotten bigger. Lowes’ Quinn and Diaz’s Huck, were in a bit of romantic link in the previous seasons of “Scandal.” But in Season 6, Quinn decided to marry Charlie (George Newbern). Huck, on the other hand, is still single.

Meanwhile, before Lowes and Shapiro welcomed Albee, the actress first revealed to Laurel & Wolf that they designed an organic nautical-inspired nursery for him. “Until you get pregnant, you never know about baby brand and baby furniture, but it’s actually a choice. And Oeuf is a very affordable company and everything is organic – chemically free, sustainable. It’s all beautifully made and can also transition from babies to toddlers,” she said.
