Kerry Washington stopped by “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Tuesday to talk about her second pregnancy and the struggles of hiding it while filming “Scandal.”

While speaking with talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, Washington admitted that she did not know she was having a boy while she was pregnant. “I had no idea what I was having. I said I hoped it was human. That turned out to be right. It’s a human boy,” she joked, via US Weekly.

DeGeneres reminded Washington that during her 2016 guest appearance, the former told her that she thinks she’s having a boy. “Who needs DNA tests? Just go to Ellen!” Washington told the audiences.

Washington also dished on how she managed to hide her first pregnancy while filming her hit ABC TV show. When she found out that she was pregnant with her second child, Washington made the tough decision to take a break from the show. This is the reason why the premiere for “Scandal” Season 6 was moved from September 2016 to January 2017. “The first episodes you will see me standing behind some flowers and then I might stand behind flowers just for fun and it doesn’t stop immediately, but I don’t need to anymore,” she said.

“Scandal” Season 6, episode 1, titled “Survival of the Fittest,” will see Olivia Pope (Washington) learning the results of the presidential election. After being actively involved in Mellie Grant’s (Bellamy Young) campaign to become the next president of the United States, Olivia will be shocked to know that her bet may not have won. Mellie’s opponent, Governor Francisco Vargas (Ricardo Chavira), may become the next person to head to the White House after President Fitz’s (Tony Goldwyn) term ends.

“Scandal” Season 6, episode 1 will air on ABC on Jan. 26 at 9 p.m. EST.
