Two days before Bella Thorne came out as bisexual on Aug. 23, the 18-year-old actress shared a couple of Snapchat photos of herself making out with her best friend Bella Pendergast. The pics led some fans to speculate that the “Scream” alum dumped her boyfriend Gregg Sulkin to be with her longtime BFF. A new report by TMZ, however, claimed that this isn’t the case.

Sources close to Thorne and Pendergast told the website that Thorne is currently not dating anyone, adding that the “Shake It Up!” actress and Pendergast are just friends who are fond of kissing each other. The website also pointed out that Pendergast has been in a serious relationship for months with fellow University of California, Davis student Bram Kolber.

Thorne and Sulkin, 24, revealed on Aug. 15 that they had split after more than a year together. “After much thought and soul-searching, we have made the difficult decision to end our relationship,” the exes told People in a joint statement announcing their breakup. “We will always love each other and have a deep respect for one another, as we have each grown to be better people because of our time together. Our schedules made seeing each other difficult, and we decided that for now this would be best.”

When a fan expressed disappointment over the pair’s breakup on Twitter, Thorne replied that there’s nothing to worry. “Things just didn’t end up working the way we had hoped,” she tweeted. “But I’ll always love the bub.”

TMZ recently confirmed that the pair’s relationship ended smoothly, noting that Sulkin doesn’t even have problem with Thorne keeping the Sherman Oaks home they bought together earlier this year.

The friendly post-breakup relationship of the two shouldn’t come as a surprise, because as E! News reported, the exes had known each other for over six years before becoming a couple. “Getting to know Gregg has been great. Our families are close,” Thorne told Teen Vogue in July 2015.
