Scream
The Brandon James killer is plotting something big in episode 11 of “Scream” Season 2. MTV

Is Emma the killer? Or is she being set up? That’s going to be the question in episode 11 of “Scream” Season 2.

Last week’s installment of the MTV series killed off another Lakewood teen — Zoe (Kiana Ledé). The police appeared to be on Emma (Willa Fitzgerald), Audrey (Bex Taylor-Klaus) and Noah’s (John Karna) side after they alerted the authorities about their dead friend. However, it doesn’t sound like things will stay that way. The synopsis for episode 11, titled “Heavenly Creatures,” teases that Emma and Audrey will become prime suspects in the recent killings when “evidence appears implicating them both.” Could that be why the killer called Sheriff Acosta (Anthony Ruivivar) in episode 10 to alert him about the barn? It definitely seems like the killer is trying to set them up, and the title of episode 11 may also hint at it.

Like every other episode in the second season, episode 11 is named after a scary film. “Heavenly Creatures” was a 1994 psychological thriller starring Melanie Lynskey and Kate Winslet. The movie was about two teen girls name Pauline and Juliet who became obsessed with each other and created an alternate world to live in. They ultimately hatched a plan to kill Pauline’s mother, who they suspected of trying to keep them apart. The two went through with the murder, and were caught thanks to a journal detailing their plan.

The killer has been planting evidence on Emma and Audrey all season — like Jake’s (Tom Maden) cellphone in Emma’s bag and the corkscrew murder weapon in Audrey’s car. With the Lakewood stalker’s IT abilities, it wouldn’t be too far fetched for him or her to plant some damning evidence on their computers. After all, Emma’s dad did receive emails from Riley (Brianne Tju) that actually came from Emma’s IP address.

Meanwhile, the promo video for the upcoming installment also reveals that Ms. Lang (Austin Highsmith) will be conscious after her fall and pointing her finger at Emma. Although she doesn’t accuse Emma of pushing her down the stairs, she does tell the Sheriff that if anyone has an obsession with the Season 1 killer, Piper (Amelia Rose Blaire), it’s Emma. But the real person obsessed with Piper might be Eli (Sean Grandillo). The trailer for episode 11 also shows a clip of Emma and Kieran (Amadeus Serafini) discovering that his oddball cousin was at Will’s (Connor Weil) funeral. If he only just recently moved to Lakewood, then why would he have been in town last year for the funeral — especially a funeral for someone he didn’t know.
