For the Spring 2012 collection of the singer's Dream Out Loud line, Selena Gomez asked for fans' input on what they would like to see in the designs.

Working hard on new designs for Dream Out Loud fall 2012.... Yes almost a year in advance. What are you guys wanting in the line? she posted on her Facebook page.

In the past, Gomez has asked fans for to voice their opinions on topics such as her fragrances and what songs they would like to hear her cover in concert.

On Tuesday November 15, Gomez did a live interview with LiveStream where she discussed her Dream Out Loud line, sold exclusively at K-mart, and took questions from fans.

I want to make my clothes for girls that are comfortable in their own skin, said the 19-year-old. And wanna dress up and dress down and make it individual. It's not for a specific body. It's not for a specific anything.

She said that the best part is the design process, where she selects fabrics (mainly soft ones) and sketches created by her amazing team.

Gomez, who is known for her fabulous red carpet attire, says that the line is actually a little bit better than her causal everyday-wear.

I'm pretty much just a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl or a tights and boots kind of girl. My line kind of creates that feeling, which is my personal style, and then vamps it up. And adds colors and stripes and sequins and scarves and makes it better.

Gomez said that the Spring 2012 collection hones in on 70s style revisited, but with a modern twist. Customers can expect to see light colors, high-waisted skirts and flared pants. Comfort is key.

Although the line is intended for tween and teenage girls, Gomez's designs are popular with an older crowd too. The pop singer said that her favorite high end designers are Marchesa and Christian Cota. She admits to working with a stylist for red carpet events but says that she styles herself on a daily basis.

When asked where her inspiration comes from, Gomez said that a 10-year-old fan is to thank for the idea behind her DOL clothing line.

The whole reason that I started this line is because a fan came up to me, and she was 10-years-old, and she was wearing an exact replica of an outfit I wore with my mom going to dinner. And she found an exact replica of it and made it her own. And that's what inspired me to do my entire clothing line, Gomez said.

Gomez arrived at the American Music Awards on Sunday in a stunning Giorgio Armani liquid gold gown. With Justin Bieber on her arm, the songstress was by far one of the best dressed of the night. ABC red carpet correspondent Vanessa Lachey called them Hollywood's cutest couple.

Despite all of the praise and accolades, Gomez maintains a clear head.

At the end of the day, you should not wake up and dress for anybody but yourself, she said.
