Pop singer and actress, Selena Gomez, revealed what she feels toward fans, who still cannot get over her relationship and breakup with ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber. Selena admitted that she completely understands how fans are still holding on to “JELENA,” but she thinks that the internet is responsible for keeping the JELENA phase alive.

Selena started seeing Justin back in 2010, but the couple eventually broke up just a year ago. With all the rumors that went out in the open about their relationship, Selena still thinks that there is nothing she regrets about being with Justin. In an interview with U.K.’s the Sunday Times, the former Disney star shared how she firmly believed that she did not do anything wrong by falling in love.

"There’s such an emphasis on people being the perfect thing and then destroying them because it’s good press," Gomez told the publication.

When Selena was only 13, she asked her dad to give her a promise ring. The singer told the Sunday Times how her father apparently went to the church and got the ring blessed. She recalled that while her dad used her as a good role model to other kids, she had also been mocked a couple of times for wearing the purity ring.

Selena also remembered how she would often cry inside the closet and all she wanted that time was to learn from these experiences. She wore the purity ring while she was still in a relationship with Nick Jonas, but finally took it off when she started dating Bieber.

The “Love You Like a Love Song” singer admitted to the publication that she never felt embarrassed wearing the purity ring when she and Nick were still together. The ring symbolized Selena’s commitment to not having sex until she got married is something that she gave importance to.

“I’m not embarrassed to say that. I’m also not embarrassed to say the ring has come off," Gomez said.

The singer also recently invited former One Direction band member Zayn Malik to “reach out” to her after Malik started following her on Twitter, the Mirror reported. The former 1D member reportedly joined Selena’s long list of followers shortly after he split from fiancée Perrie Edwards.

During an interview with Manchester's Key 103 radio station, she admitted how she thinks Malik is “awesome,” adding, "I know Zayn, so it's almost like if he would ever want to reach out, he knows that he could.”
