Will Selena Gomez and Zayn Malik sing a duet for the upcoming live-action “Aladdin” movie? A new rumor has surfaced that the two popstars will collaborate, and their fans are freaking out!

Earlier this week, Selena Gomez sources posted on Twitter that the 25-year-old singer and Malik will be featured on a song together for the 2019 “Aladdin” live-action remake. The rumor remains unsubstantiated as neither Malik nor Gomez confirmed the collab.

However, Bustle noted that there’s a rumor Malik and Gomez may sing “A Whole New World,” which was originally sung by Lea Salonga and Brad Kane in the original 1992 animated film. If the rumor turns out to be true, they may follow in the footsteps of Ariana Grande and John Legend, who released their own version of “Beauty and the Beast” last year with the live-action adaptation.

Though Malik and Gomez have yet to address the rumor, fans have already shared their two cents on the possibility of the two pop powerhouses collaborating on a song. Check out some of their reactions below:

Some fans can't control their emotions over a possible Zalena duet.

Some have already started investigating the truth behind the rumors.

Others are just ready to cough up cash for any Selena-Zayn song.

If Gomez and Malik do release a recording of “A Whole New World,” this wouldn’t be the first time for big artists to do so. In 1992, R&B artists Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle sang their own rendition of the famous ballad, which played over “Aladdin’s” end credits. Their version of “A Whole New World” soared to the top spot of the Billboard Hot 100 chart in March 1993, knocking off Whitney Houston’s massive hit “I Will Always Love You” from no. 1. The latter was featured in the 1992 film, “The Bodyguard.”

Other Disney songs which gained attention were Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson’s “Beauty and the Beast” and Vanessa Williams’ “Colors of the Wind” from the 1995 movie “Pocahontas.”

Are you rooting for Zayn Malik and Selena Gomez to collaborate on a song? If not, who do you want to sing “A Whole New World” in the upcoming “Aladdin” remake? Share your ideas in the comments!
