Francia Raisa recently displayed her surgery scar three months after she donated her kidney to her best friend, Selena Gomez.

The 29-year-old actress attended the screening for her upcoming Freeform TV series, “Grown-ish.” While there, she was photographed wearing a crop top that showed off her small scar.

Raisa also gave her and Gomez’s fans an update about their health post-surgery. “We’re doing great. I’m feeling really good and I’m really happy to be here,” she told E! News.

Last summer, Raisa decided to donate her kidney to Gomez after her good friend told her about her condition. The actress did not have second thoughts about doing the good deed for Gomez just so she could save her life.

Following their surgery, “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” star posted a photo of herself lying on the bed beside Gomez while inside the hospital. They were still connected to tubes.

In her caption, Raisa said that she’s beyond grateful that God entrusted her with the ability of saving Gomez’s life and changing her life in the process as well.

Gomez has also praised Raisa for her kidness and for giving her the chance to extend her life. During their sit-down interview on “Today,” Gomez admitted that it was difficult to ask someone to donate their kidney to save her.

Raisa went into surgery first and Gomez followed shortly after. After being rolled into her hospital room, Gomez suffered from complications and was brought in for another procedure.

“As soon as I got the kidney, my arthritis went away. My lupus is at a three to five percent chance it’ll ever come back. My blood pressure is better. My energy and my life has been better,” Gomez said.

Gomez and Raisa spent most of the summer recovering from their surgeries, but it was only in September that they opened up about it. A source told Entertainment Tonight that Raisa had a tough time keeping things a secret especially from the media.

“Francia didn’t tell anyone she was going to do this. It was a private thing between her and Selena,” the source said.
