Summer is left behind and it's now time for September. The ninth month of the year signifies pumpkin spice lattes, light cardigans and the start of football season. It is also the month of the autumn equinox and the Harvest Season.

The autumnal equinox occurs in September every year, most often on the 22nd, 23rd or 24th. There is also a spring, or vernal equinox, every year. The solstices — one during summer, another during winter — are the counterparts of the equinox.
