In a move many might say is life imitating art, Sex and the City star Kristin Davis adopted a baby girl, much like what her famous character Charlette York Goldenblatt did on the hit TV series.

According to People.com Davis, 46, welcomed daughter Gemma Rose Davis through domestic adoption a few months ago.

This is something I have wanted for a very long time, Davis told People.com. Having this wish come true is even more gratifying than I ever had imagined. I feel so blessed.

Davis' character on Sex and the City, Charlotte York Goldenblatt, adopted her first child Lily with on-screen husband Harry Goldenblatt, from China.

Davis is a global ambassador for Oxfam and a patron for the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
