‘Shades Of Blue’
Jennifer Lopez will reprise her role as Harlee Santos in “Shades of Blue” Season 3. NBC

“Shades of Blue” has just been renewed by NBC for Season 3.

According to TV Line, the renewal came just after two episodes from Season 2 aired on the network. NBC president Jennifer Salke also expressed her excitement over the fact that “Shades of Blue” has been dominating in its new Sunday, 10 p.m. EST timeslot over ABC’s “American Crime” and CBS’ “Elementary.”

“We’re so hugely appreciative of everything Jennifer (Lopez) and Ray (Liotta) do, and know it is due to their dedication, as well as the hard work of our incredible cast and producers, that ‘Shades of Blue’ has so clearly and compellingly earned a third-season renewal. This show continues to mine powerful stories that always leave us hungry for more,” she said in statement.

Lead star Lopez is also grateful for the recent renewal of the hit cop drama. On her Instagram account, the actress posted an adorable photo of herself with Liotta. In the series, Lopez plays the role of Harlee Santos, while Liotta plays the role of Michael Wozniak.

Meanwhile, the upcoming third episode of “Shades of Blue” Season 2, titled “Ghost Hunt,” will see Harlee and Wozniak tracking down a dangerous rival in an attempt to make a trade with the feds. Since Wozniak refused to help Stahl (Warren Kole) in the previous episode, the latter set his sights on Harlee. Wozniak won’t allow anything bad to happen to Harlee, so he will try to reel in a bigger fish for the FBI to focus on.

Elsewhere, Internal Affairs Officer Verco (Dov Davidoff) will investigate the members of Wozniak’s team to find out what really happened to Donnie Pomp (Michael Esper). The deceased character had a secret relationship with Wozniak before he was ultimately killed in the first season.

“Shades of Blue” Season 2, episode 3 will air on NBC on March 19 at 10 p.m. EST.
