Shadowhunters
Here's what fans can expect from “Shadowhunters” Season 2. Freeform

“Shadowhunters” Season 2 will be about Clary’s journey to becoming a “new kind of shadowhunter,” according to Katherine McNamara.

In an interview with VVV magazine, the actress teased a few details about the upcoming season of the hit Freeform show and shared what kind of struggles her character will face. McNamara said the first season of the show was just like an introduction to the storied world of shadowhunters, downworlders and mundanes. She also said that while her character has found answers in the previous season, there are a lot more answers for her to search for in the upcoming installment.

One of the bigger challenges for Clary in the next season, according to McNamara, is how to deal with Jace (Dominic Sherwood) and the idea that they are siblings. Clary will also focus on establishing herself as a mundane-raised shadowhunter and how her experiences as a human can contribute to making her a better warrior.

McNamara had teased the difference in dynamics between Clary and Jace in the upcoming season of the series based on Cassandra Clare’s “The Mortal Instruments” books. When the series started, Jace acted as Clary’s guide to the new world she has become of. The new season, however, will see the two switching roles.

“Jace has been so sure of himself this whole time and known exactly who he is, but now he’s learned that Valentine is his father, it’s kind of changed everything for him,” McNamara said during a Q&A session.

Aside from being rich story-wise, McNamara also teased that the upcoming season will be action-packed. The actress has shared a number of behind-the-scenes photos, and there was an abundance of images of fight scenes.

“Shadowhunters” Season 2 is expected to premiere next year, although a premiere date has yet to be announced. The first look at the new installment will be shown during the 2016 New York Comic Con.
