Shailene Woodley suffered an injury during filming of her new movie, “Divergent,” that she says left her physically scarred.

According to IMDB, stunt double Alicia Vela-Bailey stepped in for the actress during some of her scenes, but Woodley also contributed her own stunts to the movie.

In an interview with E! News at Monday night’s Elle’s annual Women in Hollywood event, the former “Secret Life of the American Teenager” star revealed that she was so eager to perform her own stunts that she got a little carried away. Woodley said that in her enthusiasm for the action film, which has already drawn comparisons to “The Hunger Games,” she agreed to perform some “crazy stuff” that left her “really hurt.”

“I have a scar on my chest [and] a scar on my hip, but all good battle wounds,” Woodley said. “It’s so much fun! And they’ll go away in like five years. The cool thing is I got to do some stunts and that never happens. I feel so cool about it.”

And scars aren’t all Woodley has to show for her efforts. The 21-year-old actress also said she suffered multiple hernias on set. “It was partly my fault from the amount of stress,” she said.

It’s not the first time that Woodley has put herself in harm’s way for her job. In March, while she was filming “The Amazing Spiderman 2” -- which she was cut from during post-production -- she was allegedly nearly crushed by a falling car, Perez Hilton reported.

Woodley also addressed rumors that she had been a contender for the upcoming “Fifty Shades of Grey” film, saying that there was little truth to them. "Every time I talk to somebody, they're like, 'Oh, what's going on with 'Fifty Shades?'" Woodley said. "And I'm like, 'What are you talking about? I know nothing about it.' But yeah, after doing ‘Divergent and being a part of that franchise, I couldn't imagine doing another one right now."

But Woodley was more optimistic about her co-star Theo James’ chances of being cast in the film, saying, “He’s pretty handsome. He’s a looker, that’s for sure.”

Woodley acts in the film opposite Kate Winslet, Ashley Judd and Zoe Kravitz.
