Shailene Woodley fought hard to win the leading female role in the film adaptation of "The Fault In Our Stars." Despite her love for the romantic tale, the actress admittedly isn't a big fan of the film's controversial marketing campaign.

Following the release of the romance-drama's official movie poster last week, and the subsequent backlash over the film's tagline, "One Sick Love Story," Woodley commented on the controversy. "I had a really strong response to it," said Woodley, when discussing the poster for the film, which stars Woodley as a cancer-stricken teen named Hazel who falls in love with another terminally ill teen named Augustus (played by actor Ansel Elgort). "It's definitely-- it's not a tagline that I probably would have chosen by any means," the former TV star later added.

Despite sharing her displeasure with the marketing decision, Woodley did show loyalty for 20th Century Fox, the studio behind the silver-screen version of the best-selling young-adult love story. "I think that there are so many people who are so passionate about this book that there's nothing that will ever satisfy everyone," said Woodley. "But it seems like half the people love it and half the people don't like it," she added.

Elgort also shared his thoughts on the campaign. "I have no problem with the tagline," Elgort tweeted last week, calling the phrase "cheeky."

John Green, famous YouTuber and author of "The Fault in Our Stars," previously addressed the controversy on his official Tumblr account, confirming that he was not involved in the creation of the tagline. "These things are not my decision. It's not my movie, or my poster," said Green, later adding support for the tagline. "I like the tagline because it says, literally, the sick can also have love stories. Love and joy and romance are not just things reserved for the well."

"The Fault in our Stars" is in theaters June 6, 2014.
