shameless season 5 spoilers
Debbie (Emma Kenney) and Fiona (Emmy Rossum) will find themselves at odds in the Season 5 finale of "Shameless." Showtime

It’s been one wild season, wouldn’t you say? From the return of Jimmy/Steve (Justin Chatwin) to Fiona’s (Emmy Rossum) surprising nuptials, it’s safe to say Season 5 of “Shameless” has left us with our mouths agape for the past 11 episodes.

Alas for fans, every good thing must come to an end, and that includes our favorite Showtime drama. So, on Sunday, "Shameless” will air its highly anticipated season finale, titled “Love Songs.” As the title suggests, episode 12 will focus on romance as new relationships form and old ones crumble.

According to the synopsis for the episode, Fiona will reunite with Gus (Steve Kazee) after her husband returns home from his tour. But it looks like she won’t be fan-girling over his arrival considering she has confessed feelings for another man: Sean (Dermot Mulroney).

In a promo video for next week’s episode, Fiona admits to Sean that she’s fallen in love with him.

“And I’m pretty sure you’re in love with me, too,” she boldly states. But Sean isn’t interested in sleeping with someone’s wife -- especially not the wife of a good guy like Gus. “I’ve been that guy -- hiding in a closet,” he reminds Fiona of his unstable past.

That’s when Fiona brings up the D-word: “What if Gus and I split up?” She proposes a divorce out of desperation.

Fiona won’t be the only one struggling in the love department in the finale. The summary for Sunday night’s episode reveals that Frank (William H. Macy) will also be caught between a rock and a hard place as he tries to keep his ill girlfriend Bianca (Bojana Novakovic) happy while simultaneously encouraging her to seek the help she needs.

And last but not least, Fiona will catch two young lovers in the act during the season closer when she walks in on Debbie (Emma Kenney) and Derek’s (Luca Oriel) romantic rendezvous.

“What the hell is going on?” Fiona questions as Derek quickly tries to dress himself.

“Don’t embarrass me like that,” Debbie warns her older sister. But Fiona has no problem laying down the law: “You can’t have a boy in your bed," she says. The only question now is will she have a problem facing back talk from her little sister? “Why not? You do,” Debbie responds.
