It’s raining sharks … again! That’s right, Syfy fans. Your favorite campy science fiction series is back. And according to reports, “Sharknado 2: The Second One” will be even bloodier – and dare we say tackier -- than the first.

As one viewer perfectly put it, “Sharknado” is cheesy enough to give you chills. So, grab a sweater, my fellow New Yorkers, and maybe an umbrella (or two), for when the clock strikes 9 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, the ocean’s greatest predators will fall from the sky onto our fine, never-sleeping city.

The first series, which made its Syfy debut on July 11, 2013, took place in Los Angeles and told of what happened when a hurricane disastrously lifted sharks out of the ocean and dropped them onto California. Needless to say, it was a bloody, hysterical mess. But for those of you who can’t remember how the thriller ended, here’s a quick recap to prepare you for the premiere of “Sharknado 2: The Second One”:

Let’s start from the helicopter scene, shall we? -- considering it was one of the best moments, in our opinion. Fin’s son Matt (played by Chuck Hittinger) and his crush Nova (played by Cassie Scerbo) were flying high in the sky, helicopter-style, attempting to throw bombs into the sharknado with the hopes of putting an explosive end to the finny madness.

But as they hovered above the storm, a shark flew out of the swirling tornado of doom and leapt into the helicopter. Nova desperately tried to kill the shark by stabbing it in the face but must have lost her footing, because the next thing we saw was the bartender falling out of the craft into the shark-infested sky.

One of the sharks, a megalodon-looking animal compared to the rest of them, took advantage of the situation and swallowed Nova whole:

But Matt and the rest of the sharknado survivors could only mourn Nova’s death for a moment because L.A. was still under attack. Fin (played by Ian Ziering) decided there was only one way to stop the storm: fill his Hummer up to the brim with explosives, turn on the nitrous boosters and wait for the sharknado to suck up the explosive vehicle. Sure enough his plan worked, and soon Los Angeles was raining hammerheads and great whites.

But L.A. wasn’t safe yet. As the sharks poured down from the sky, one pesky white had his sights set on Fin’s daughter, Claudia (played by Aubrey Peeples). But Fin raced to his child, with his chainsaw in tow, to push her out of the way. This put him in the prime spot to get eaten. After the shark swallowed him in one bite (not savoring our protagonist at all) fans got to see Tara Reid’s character’s (April) hilarious reaction.

Soon their tears turned to confusion when they heard the buzzing of Fin’s chainsaw and the protruding of the shark’s stomach. Next thing we know Fin is popping out of the shark's sliced up belly, drenched in blood, and pulling Nova (who was thankfully still alive) out behind him. Yep, this shark happens to be the same jerk that ate Nova when she fell from the helicopter! How convenient?

The final scene of “Sharknado” proved to fans just how romantic Syfy can get when April seductively wiped the blood from Fin’s mouth to share a passionate smooch among the dozens of rotting shark corpses. Now that’s how you end a movie...
