Shay Carl Butler’s family has spoken. After remaining silent on the YouTuber’s cam girl cheating scandal for close to a month, two of the Shaytards star’s loved ones addressed it Thursday.

While Colette Butler, Shay’s wife of 14 years, usually stars on The Mom’s View channel, owned by Disney’s Maker Studios, she did not appear in the latest video. Instead, Shay’s sister Carlie Wood and sister-in-law Kayli Butler addressed her absence in a video titled “GIRLS NIGHT OUT?!”

“We are missing Colette. She’s going through some things right now and doesn’t feel comfortable being here. Hopefully she will be back soon,” Kayli started the video.

“At the end of the day family is No. 1 to us no matter what and we support whatever decision that she makes,” Carlie added. “We’re just here to support her and love her and even though she can’t be here she sends her love. When she’s ready, she’ll be back.”

Shaytards fans were majority supportive of Colette’s absence and sent well wishes her way amid her family’s crisis. Others praised Kayli and Carlie for addressing the situation without going into too much detail.

Though Colette did not appear in the latest The Mom’s View update, she has been on YouTube since her husband’s scandal. Last week, she appeared in one of Carlie’s family vlogs.

Shay announced on Twitter last month that he was suffering from alcoholism, a disease he formerly discussed on his podcast, and would be taking an indefinite break from YouTube to seek treatment.

One day prior, cam girl Aria Nina released sexual messages she and Shay had been sending to one another over the course of three months. Shay did not respond to the cheating allegations, but did reportedly confirm the validity of the messages to another YouTuber.

“We feel it is her place to talk about when she’s ready,” Kayli said Thursday.
