Shermya Pyatt, a 19-year-old girl who mugged a 14-year-old boy in Britain and was caught after her victim tracked her down through Facebook, was sentenced to 22 months in jail for her crime.

“The defendant is a street bully,” Leicester Crown Court Judge Simon Hammond said as he sentenced the 19-year-old, according to the Daily Mail. “There’s a nasty, violent streak in her.”

Pyatt head-butted the victim and robbed him of his bicycle last September. She was caught after the boy did some amateur sleuthing on Facebook sparked by Pyatt uttering her distinctive first name after the crime. The victim was never able to retrieve the mountain bike.

Pyatt was called a “violent bully” by Hammond, according to the Leicester Mercury. The mugger was the instigator of three assaults in 2006, the paper reported.

Prosecutor Lynsey Knott briefly described the mugging incident.

"The defendant got on the bike and the victim took hold of the handlebars, trying to stop her. She head-butted him on his nose and left cheek area, causing him to let go and she rode away. The complainant was in immediate pain and it really hurt him,” she said, according to the Mercury.

Hammond also noted that Pyatt was prosecuted in 2010 for possessing a BB gun at a shopping center in March. Three months later she committed shoplifting.

"People are entitled to go about their lives without people robbing them,” the judge said. "The bike was probably the victim's most treasured possession. He never got it back."

Pyatt’s attorney, Sally Bamford, said her client is sorry about the mugging.

“She has expressed remorse for her actions There are positive aspects to her character and she comes from a good supportive background,” the lawyer said. “Her mother is in court to support her. The offense must have been extremely unpleasant for the victim, but fortunately there was no lasting injury."
